Engineering - Mech., Production
Mechanical engineering is the broadest discipline and requires a solid understanding of a variety of inter-related subjects of study such as physics, energy, thermodynamics and dynamics (kinetics)—an obscure related topic is kinematics (different from kinetics). The use and practical applications of all this knowledge results in mechanical engineering is a big help in modern living. Because of it, we have air-conditioners, heating and cooling systems, modern aircrafts and ocean-going sea crafts. All mechanical devices and machines result from mechanical engineering techniques such as the simple washing machine motor to the highly complex automobiles which we take for granted. Mechanical engineering is also concerned with nano-technology with concepts such as molecular self-assembly and materials science.
