Journeying into Apprenticeship
In the past, a young person can work under a master craftsman as an apprentice to gain experience and training regarding the trade. For the craftsman, the apprentice served as a cheap form of labour. Nowadays, apprentice programmes are organised by the government to help people gain experience in their trade. As an apprentice, you earn while you learn because you spend a great portion of your time learning your skills on the job. The rest of your time is spent on classroom discussions.
Apprenticeship allows an individual to gain necessary skills to excel in his field. It also serves as ticket to many job opportunities since many employers will want to hire someone with adequate experience. Furthermore, with the great skills you learned through apprenticeship, you have the chance to earn higher wage compared to those of the same field as yours but has not gone through apprenticeship.
